I am a lifelong resident of Brookline, Mass. married to George,
and have three sons; Paul, (Med Flight Nurse) John, ( Brookline
Firefighter) and Robert (Master Electrician).
Thirty years ago I developed an interest in collecting antique
jewelry, silver and decorative arts. Gradually my interest grew
into a profession. I began selling antiques at antique shows
in Brimfield, Mass, Cape Cod, and at the Atlantic City Convention
Center. In 1991 I became a partner in an antique shop in Dover,
Mass. As a result of this experience I became more interested
in learning more about 18th and 19th century furniture and decorative
arts.
I enrolled in educational workshops and took courses at the
University of Maine, University of R.I., Hofstra University,
in Antique, Period and Gemstone Jewelry. I also took
courses at NYU, in The Evolving Practice of Decorative Carpets,
American and English Regional Furniture, Chapel Hill N.C.,
and the Evolution of American Furniture Design, Boston
Architectural Center.
I attended and recieved my auctioneers license at the International
Auction School in Deerfield Mass. I also have many years experience
conducting home Estate Sales.
I enjoy working in the field of antiques and having the opportunity
to meet many people The experience of working with antiques
has helped me to form very rewarding business and personal relationships.
I realize that the key to developing strong business relationships
is the ability to earn trust through good communication, and
by being reliable and forthright.
